#8 Melina Ochoa, Winger
Hi! My name is Melina Ochoa, and I play for Legends SD, wearing number 8. I attend Rancho Bernardo High School, where I have a 4.0 GPA and will graduate in 2028. I typically play as a winger, where my aggressive attacking mentality, explosive speed, and quickness allow me to create scoring opportunities and finish plays. I also play midfield, where I excel at making plays, driving up the field, and setting up my teammates with clear chances to score, all while contributing defensively. I’m known for my strong soccer IQ, speed and aggressiveness, quick and technical dribbling, 1v1 ability, and powerful shot. I’m also a team-oriented player who communicates well and leads by example through effort, energy, and commitment. I played for San Diego Surf 2010 ECNL for the past three seasons, where I developed my skills, grew as a player, and built lasting relationships. This season, being my first with Legends, I’ve enjoyed applying what I’ve learned and continuing to perform at my highest level. Off the field, I love spending time with friends and family, snowboarding, playing guitar, and going to the beach. I’m a hardworking and disciplined student who values education and always strives to reach my full potential both on and off the field. A fun fact about me is that I’m an identical twin, and my sister also plays on my team! Being a twin is such a fun and unique experience because I always have someone to train with, compete against, and share my goals with. I’m excited to continue growing as a player and see what the future holds!
