Vista High School, Class of 2027

My name is Valerie Benitez, Class of 2027, and I play for Legends FC San Diego. I started playing soccer when I was four years old and quickly grew into competitive play. I’ve played nearly every position on the field, which gives me a strong awareness and high soccer IQ, though I now focus mainly as a center midfielder and striker.

I had the opportunity to compete at Super Copa in Toluca, Mexico with the Mexican Football Federation, facing top-level talent that pushed me to elevate my game. I’m known for my quickness, vision, and creativity making unexpected passes, controlling the ball with finesse, and finding ways to change the game. My style of play has often been compared to Rose Lavelle, a player I admire for her intelligence and creativity.

My goal is to continue competing at the highest level and play soccer in college, bringing passion, energy, and determination every time I step on the field.
